There is almost universal consensus among climate scientists that we are seeing human-caused climate change. This consensus is driven by specific scientific data that cannot be explained by other means.

Understanding the basic science of energy and the relationship of other forms of energy to heat will help us understand how energy resources are used used and why some resources are preferable to others.

The ideas we have talked about so far do not depend on computer modelling. Scientists use models to predict what will happen in more detail. But the atmosphere land and water form a large, complicated, interconnected system, which is very difficult to model on a computer.

Changes caused by global warming can cause changes that make the earth warm faster.

Greenhouse gases in the atmosphere keep the earth warm by impeding cooling.
